HSK Rush Privacy Policy

HSK Rush is developed and operated by Neon Pixel Studios.

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use HSK Rush.

Privacy by Design

HSK Rush is designed to keep your learning data private.

You do not need to create a Chinese Ninja or Neon Pixel Studios account to use HSK Rush.

Your learning activity is stored on your device and may be synchronised between your Apple devices using Apple’s private iCloud and CloudKit services.

Neon Pixel Studios does not operate a separate learner-data server or learner account system for HSK Rush.

Learning Data

HSK Rush stores information needed to provide and personalise your learning experience. This may include:

  • your selected HSK starting level;
  • Rush activity and attempts;
  • learning progress and progression state;
  • Recognition and practice history;
  • unlock and learning-state information; and
  • app preferences and acknowledgement settings.

This information is used to provide HSK Rush functionality, including adaptive practice, learning progress and continuity between sessions.

Gameplay is local-first. Learning activity is recorded on your device and does not need to wait for iCloud synchronisation.

iCloud and CloudKit

HSK Rush uses Apple’s iCloud and CloudKit services to provide private learner-data continuity between your Apple devices.

Learner data synchronised through CloudKit is stored in the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple Account.

HSK Rush does not require a separate application account, and Neon Pixel Studios does not operate a separate server that receives or stores your learner history.

After learner data has been established on a device, HSK Rush can continue to use that local learning data during temporary network or iCloud interruptions.

Apple’s handling of information through iCloud and CloudKit is governed by Apple’s privacy policies and terms.

HSK Rush Pro and Purchases

HSK Rush Pro purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit.

Apple handles payment processing, billing information and Apple Account payment details.

HSK Rush receives StoreKit information required to determine whether you have valid access to HSK Rush Pro. This may include:

  • the HSK Rush Pro product involved;
  • verified transaction and ownership status;
  • subscription entitlement status; and
  • Family Sharing ownership status where applicable.

Neon Pixel Studios does not receive your payment-card details.

HSK Rush Pro ownership and subscription state are commercial information and are not stored as part of your learner history in CloudKit.

Restoring purchases restores eligible HSK Rush Pro access. It does not restore, replace or merge your learning history.

Family Sharing

Eligible HSK Rush Pro purchases may be shared through Apple’s Family Sharing system.

Family Sharing shares access to eligible HSK Rush Pro features according to Apple’s rules.

It does not share or merge Rush activity, Progress, Recognition data or other learner history between family members.

Each learner’s learning data remains separate.

Advertising, Analytics and Tracking

HSK Rush does not contain advertising.

HSK Rush does not use advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking.

HSK Rush does not currently include third-party analytics or telemetry SDKs.

Neon Pixel Studios does not use HSK Rush learner activity for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Apple may provide system-level diagnostic, App Store or usage information according to your Apple device settings and Apple’s own privacy practices.

Data Retention and Deletion

Learning data stored locally remains on your device unless it is removed through the controls provided by the app or operating system, including removal of the app and its locally stored data.

Learning data synchronised using private iCloud and CloudKit is managed through your Apple Account and Apple’s iCloud services.

HSK Rush does not currently provide a developer-operated learner account or a developer database containing your learning history.

Neon Pixel Studios therefore cannot directly access or delete your private CloudKit learner history on your behalf.

Apple Services

HSK Rush uses Apple platform services including:

  • iCloud and CloudKit for private learner-data continuity;
  • StoreKit and the App Store for HSK Rush Pro purchases and subscriptions; and
  • Apple system and distribution services required to operate and distribute the app.

These services are subject to Apple’s privacy policies and terms.

Security

HSK Rush is designed so that learning data remains on your devices or within Apple’s private iCloud infrastructure rather than being transferred to a Neon Pixel Studios learner-data service.

HSK Rush uses Apple’s platform security and StoreKit transaction-verification mechanisms for the services described in this policy.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if HSK Rush functionality or its data practices change.

When material changes are made, this page will be updated and the effective date above will be revised.
